Catching Up

On Friday Grace had her 6-month appointment (actually she was 6 mo., 3wks). She weighs 16 lbs, 10 oz (70th percentile) and is 26.5" long (also 70th percentile). So she is doing great! She recently found her feet, so is loving her foot rattles (thanks, Rebecca & Steve!). :)
Last weekend Chris had his "Flesh Fest" get-together with his friends. Everyone brought a meat dish of some sort and beer. I told him this could have also been called "Men, Meat & Malt." They had alot of fun. Grace and I made a fun escape over to the Valentine's house to be with all the wives and kids for pizza and wine.

We went to the Capitol Building rededication 2 weekends ago, and got to tour the whole building. It was really neat to see the new, underground wings with daylight ceilings, the restored older part of the building, and an old brass elevator that they found during the work on the rotunda level that had been covered by a wall. Lots of fun photo ops with Grace that day!

Yummy in her tummy

Grace started solids while we were in Post Falls with her Grandma Terry and Grandpa Jim. She seemed to really like the rice cereal (video clip and pics below).

As an update, tonight we tried carrots - - not quite as popular...

Christmas 2009

Yum! Wrapping paper!
Grace with her Great-Grandma Sandau
and her Great-Grandma Hamby...

...with Grandma Terry.

...and with a good grip on Grandpa Hamby's beard!

Checking out her new toys.

With her cousins Carter (2 1/2),
Byron (4 1/2; they share the same birthday of July 1st!)
and Austin (11).
A great picture of most of Michelle's cousin's kids on her mom's side of the family.

Grace and Emma on the "I" bench in front of the UI Administration building. We stopped on campus in Moscow on our way to Post Falls and on the way back.

Grace with Grandpa Tom.
Thank you Aunt Evie for the fun barking hand puppet!
She's pretty fascinated by it!

...And Over and Over!

Once she learned how to roll over onto her tummy, she quickly learned how to roll again to her back which has made her semi-mobile - now she's figuring out that she can pretty much roll to where she wants to go. We've decided that if we can't find her, we should probably look under the couch. :)

...This has also extended to her crib. She was supposed to be napping here, and I came in to find her very pleased with herself to have figured it out there, too, despite the wedges to keep her on her back! Such a ham.
