She is here!!

We welcomed our sweet baby girl, Kate Terry, at 7:17am on July 9th.  She is named after my great -grandma and my Mom.  She weighed 6 lbs 7ozs., and was 19 3/4" long.  My water broke at about 6:30pm the night before at home, and we were at the hospital by 8pm, so it all went pretty quickly - much faster than before!  :)  Kate spent a few hours in the NICU for low blood sugar, but by later that same day she was back in the nursery and with us.  We went home on Monday morning, and we've all been doing great.
She is a little doll, and we can hardly believe we've been so blessed twice over.

A little tired, a lot hungry, but feeling over the moon (much happier than the pic shows)!!
Daddy with Kate.

Chris with his girls (minus Emma).  :)
Kate with Grandma Terry and Grandpa Jim.
With Grandpa Tom and Grace.
Grace with her "Gam-ma" and baby sister.

Grace is such a sweet girl and has taken to having a baby sister really well.

First bath at the hospital.

Getting ready to go home.
She looks SO tiny in that car seat!
Grace likes giving her sister kisses and is very interested in diaper changes,
letting us know when the baby cries, feeding the baby, bringing her blankets, etc...
It's been really cute to watch.

Grace's 2nd Birthday

We (I) had hoped to get these pics from the weekend of Grace's 2nd birthday (July 1st) posted by the weekend that followed it, but of course our plans changed quickly when we went to the hospital on the evening of July 8th!  :)  And for the better part of the past week since we've been home, the home PC was on the fritz.  So we are playing a bit of catch-up!
We had a wonderful weekend full of fun for the big 2!!  Aunt Evie came to visit us from Portland, which was wonderful!  On her actual birthday, Chris took the day off from work, and we had a fun day of opening a few gifts, going to dinner at Fork, opening more gifts (!), and finishing the day playing outside.

She is a little fish, so Grandpa got her some water shoes for the pool.

Video of Grace Opening Her Elmo Birthday Card from Aunt Evie - she LOVES Elmo!
Thank you Aunt Evie for the cute bug finger puppet and for coming to stay.
Cute as a bug!!!
A fun new water toy from Uncle Jimmy, Aunt Kym, and cousins Austin, Byron, and Carter.
Video of Grace Opening Her 'Cars' Pajama's -
they're right up there with Elmo on her list of likes!

"Now what shall I order?"  The birthday girl settled for a grilled cheese and fries.

She really liked the birthday card that her cousin Anna made for her -
she is still pointing to it on the door and saying 'Anna?'.

The end of a big day...  we took this at 8:04pm, the time she was born at 2 years ago.

On Saturday, we had a family pool party with pizza, cake and ice cream.
Her Dad made a chocolate cake with root beer/chocolate frosting - yum!
Wrapped up in her new polka-dot beach towel from Lilah and the kids.

On Monday, the Fourth of July, we went to ZooBoise.
One of the highlights was the butterfly exhibit there this summer.
She liked all the different colors of butterflies there to see.
Go get 'em, tiger!
In the prairie-dog tunnel with Daddy.
One of her first favorites was "Finding Nemo" and the turtle character "Crush."
Who knew Crush would be making an appearance at Zoo Boise??

Weeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

So much fun on the slides!

We love you baby girl - Happy 2nd Birthday!!!

Late May/June 2011

Lots of great time with family and friends these past few months!  In May, Grace and I went to Post Falls to see my side of the family.  We got to be there for her cousin Carter's 4th birthday!!  She had lots of fun with all the kids, and  really liked the bounce house and balloons!
What a Grandma's Girl!
She started saying Grandma this trip, "Ma-Ma" and never let her out of her sight!

She's getting so big...
She learned to say her name last month. Grace Name Video
Trying on Daddy's coat...

 ... and Mommy's make-up.
 Brushing Elmo's hair...
... and Rob's! Rob, Jen, and Abby came to visit in June - we had a great time!!
Putting on sunglasses and hopping are also new skills!  (Video)
Of course, we love getting her to say her new words - over and over.
"Strawberry" (Video) has been a favorite.

We spent the day of my birthday going to breakfast and then just playing outside.
Later, I got to go for a pedicure and we went out to dinner with the Cone's.  Was a really nice day!
And I got the sweetest Happy Birthday wishes from my favorite girl (Video).
She loves being around other kids, and is going to daycare 1-2 days/week now.
The first day, she came home saying "New Fweeeends!  New Toys!" over and over.
They have outside playtime, do crafts, sing songs, dance, have snacks, and just have a great time.

Our neighbor boys, Mark and Jack, are seven and she thinks they are pretty cool, too.
She calls them both "Mar-Jah." - - Just one word!
She didn't want to come home on this day, but is always okay with it if they walk her home!
Mark & Jack also gave Grace their outgrown Cars bedsheets, comforter, and blanket.
She still loves that movie and was packing around her new blanket all that day.
Snuggled up with it to watch a show...

A little girl trying to fill some big shoes. (Video).

Father's Day morning she gave her Daddy a new shirt to wear with his cool new red Converse shoes.
Off to church on Father's Day morning.
Happy Father's Day to one amazing Dad!!!

First swim of the year was also that day!  She is loving the water.

I found some old matchbox cars and she has been playing with them alot!
And had to get a pic of her doing her funny "surprised" face.  :)

She loves the new rocking horse Grandpa Tom made her, and calls it "Papa Neigh."
Rocking Horse Video
It has become her favorite place to sit and watch her favorite shows,
which this week is "Charlotte's Web."

Now that the weather is definitely hot, we are logging lots of pool time!
